'Rumbos' Studio Nights on Mondays

The Monday Studio night (all levels), often known as ‘Rumbos’, has been running since 2003 and is at the heart of Jenny and Ricardo’s teaching activities in Edinburgh. Without the restrictions of a class setting, Jenny and Ricardo are free to work with each dancer or couple individually on whatever is needed. It is a place where even the most advanced dancers can practice essential basic technique, where dancers can go over class material that was difficult or that warranted further exploration, and where questions are welcome, and mistakes part of the learning process.

The Rumbos Studio Night provides an opportunity for the dancer to take responsibility for their own learning experience, with supervision and direction where needed. It offers dancers time and space to gain dance practice in a relaxed environment outside the class, without the rules of the milonga, and yet while gaining many of the skills that make a successful social dancer.

Jenny & Ricardo recommend that the Rumbos Studio Night is best used to practice technique, connection and improvisation skills and for correcting personal problems and issues. Dancers can arrive with a theme to work on, or ask Jenny or Ricardo to suggest a direction of practice.
